Lena is a second-year university student at the University of California Berkeley majoring in electrical engineering and computer science. Lena grew up in Dhahran where she was able to explore her many interests in the sciences and arts.
After winning the third place award nationally she participated as a finalist at Intel’s International Science and Engineering Fair. Lena is also passionate about equitable education opportunities and managed to volunteer in many programs with the Ministry of Education and Bright Up to mentor students on robotics, coding, and scientific research.
Currently, Lena is working on an engineering mechanics research project at Virginia Tech as a KGSP student. Lena’s favorite part about working in Connect is meeting the talented students and witnessing their personal growth and passion for science.
Outside of STEM, Lena’s interests include reading, rock climbing, and filmmaking.
